I saw the movie adaption when it was in theaters, so almost two years ago? I liked it, not loved it but this showed up as a Kindle Daily Deal recently and after a glowing recommendation from Kara at Great Imaginations I bought it.
So far I'm enjoying it. I love that it's in 1st person so I can actually "hear" what Matthew King is thinking about, I'm liking him as a person a little better than I remember liking him in the movie. Then again, I'm just 21% into the book so that will see.
Looking forward to meeting Matthew's daughter Alex and seeing what my thoughts of her are. I did not care much for her in the movie, her cursing and crudeness turned me off (mainly because I was with my very conservative, non cursing mother) so we'll see how it goes this time around.
I'm happy that so far the book and movie seem to match up fairly well. With the nanny had been in the movie, hopefully she sticks around in the book.
