When Amy Wolf loses her job at WaMu, she soon finds her life spinning out of control. Marital issues, bankruptcy a wayward teenage daughter and cancer-yes, cancer, are just a few of the maladies that threaten to knock Wolf down for good. Armed only with her sharp sense of humor, Wolf is determined to land on top.
I’ll admit that I admire Amy Wolf’s spirit. No matter what life through at her, she took it in stride…though I did not always (or often) agree with how she handled the situation. In fact, often I found myself wanting to either scream or throw the book (well, my iPhone) across the room because Wolf frustrated me so much. Expecting a memoir along the lines of Jen Lancaster’s Bitter is the New Black, this book left me feeling cold and not so cheery. I was definitely happy when I was able to escape and leave Amy Wolf and her insane situation behind.
